Aashka Dave, a senior in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, has completed her work as an Innovation Fellow with the Cox Institute for Journalism, Management and Leadership.
Dave served as the Innovation Fellow during the Fall 2014 semester, working on multiple projects for the Cox Institute. She was the student coordinator for the Grady College’s first mobile news lab, revised the Cox Institute website, edited an industry research project and managed promotions for the “Cox Institute Presents” lecture series. Dave also participated in the mobile news lab, leading a team that experimented with data presentation using Google Fusion Tables.
“Working as the Cox Institute’s Innovation Fellow was a great experience,” she said. “I learned so much about mobile technologies, the ways in which mobile technologies are applicable to our daily lives and how important digital changes really are.”
In January, Dave began working as a marketing coordinator at BlueFletch, a mobile technology company in Atlanta, Georgia, where she is promoting mobile technologies and their usage.
Previously, Dave was a Cox Poynter Leader, a leadership development program offered by the Cox Institute in partnership with the Poynter Institute. Dave has been a contributing writer for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, senior editor of the Georgia Political Review and editorial director of the Women’s Outreach and Resource Collective. She also was a key player in creating and publishing the UGA PreMed Magazine. Dave is an honors student who will earn undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Romance Languages.
