Grady students recognized as 2015 Cox-SABEW Fellows

Four Grady students took on the Big Apple for the fall conference of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers through a fellowship organized and sponsored by Grady’s Cox Institute for Journalism Innovation, Management and Leadership. This year’s conference was held at the City University of New York, October 8-9.

The students included seniors Kinsey Lee Clark, Grace Donnelly, Brittney Laryea and Kendall Trammell. They were recognized as Cox-SABEW Fellows based on their personal classroom and internship experience writing business journalism and other money-related stories.

“[The conference] helped a lot in opening my eyes to other options for entering the business journalism field,” Laryea said. “It exposed me to a lot of people and information that I wouldn’t have been exposed to otherwise.”

In addition to attending the conference, the fellows toured Yahoo! Finance, Fortune, Money Magazine, FOX Business News and the Wall Street Journal. They also met with several Grady alumni currently working in business news and other news media organizations in New York.
