Jun Ho Lee, a doctoral candidate in Business Administration at the College of Business, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was a recent visiting scholar with the Grady College’s Cox Institute for Journalism Innovation, Management and Leadership.

Lee is collaborating with Keith Herndon, visiting professor of journalism, on a project about how rhetorical history influences management change and is using the U.S. newspaper industry as a case study example.

Lee’s research explores how discourse, especially media accounts, plays an important role in the way organizations develop their strategies and adopt their corporate governance practices. His work has won best paper awards from the Academy of Management and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

While visiting the University of Georgia, Lee also presented a paper “Fair and Balanced? How Resource Dependence Shapes Media Coverage” at the Atlanta Competitive Advantage Conference on May 20.
